Started in 1947 by Bob Peters, his Horticultural Services Co. tested soil for greenhouse growers and made recommendations on how to produce the best crops. Today, under the leadership of Bob's son, Jack Peters, JR Peters, Inc. is advancing the tradition of Peter’s family quality products and services.

Introduced in 1997, the Jack's Classic® water-soluble plant foods are the finest products we have ever made for the home grower.

Fall, 2002 marked the introduction of the all-new Jack's Professional® fertilizer, an enhanced fertilizer formula that is even better than Bob Peter's signature "True Blue" formula—Peter's Professional®— the first blue water-soluble fertilizer.

Our company was founded in 1997. However, our leadership position and legacy of innovation in the horticulture industry date back more than 70 years, when our family patriarch, Bob Peters, established the Horticultural Services Company.

Bob tested soil for greenhouse growers and made recommendations on how to produce the best crops. Later, Bob introduced the original Peters Professional Plant Food–one of the first blue water-soluble fertilizers.

From the late 90's Jack Peters acted as the president and CEO of JR Peters, Inc. advancing the family's tradition of delivering only the finest quality products and services. In 2004, his daughter and son in law Cari & John Raymond joined the team to bring the company to the third generation of the family's Peters' tradition. During these few years the family was lucky to have all three generations of Peters working together. Bob, Jack, and Cari were all under one roof formulating and driving innovation for the Jack’s lines of products.
After learning almost every job here at Jack’s, John Raymond was promoted to the company president in 2016 as this marked the transition to the third generation of Peters with Cari and John running the day-to-day operations. Right around this time, the company was completing research to release their much-anticipated Jack’s Nutrients Line of products for Controlled Environments and Cannabis. This was immediately followed by Jack’s Elementals another line of products that allows for single element additions according to qualified and researched rates of application for specific nutrient target situations.

Both of these product lines completed the Jack’s Family of Fertilizers and re-energized our commitment to producing the highest quality products designed and manufactured in America.

Presently, as part owner, Dr. Cari is the current master crafter and formulator of products developed by JR Peters. She heads a hard-working technical support and laboratory teams (the Jack’s Blue Crew) to bring new fertilizer formulas that provide solutions to grower’s nutritional issues. Cari’s vision for Jack’s fertilizers includes constantly looking for new ways to help growers feed their plants more efficiently using the most innovative nutrient sources. She has developed many formulas that are all connected by the common goal to deliver nutrients effectively according to a crop and stage specific nutrient target approach.

Installation of high efficiency lighting throughout our facility, which reduces energy consumption.

Making the move to completely recyclable packing for all of our products.

Installation of motion activated lighting in warehouse, which saves energy when it is not necessary for lights to be on.

Construction of a 197kW photovoltaic system. This system allows us to generate up to 30% of our own energy during operation of our facility. When our facility is not in operations, such as on weekend or holidays, we will be supplying renewable, solar energy back to the power grid!
Manufacturing
We know what it costs us to manufacture Jack's Fertilizers. In 2010, our manufacturing facility began the process of Lean Transformation. We are evaluating each of our processes in order to make our production more efficient.
